How we do operate?
A marketing & comms recruitment agency thats been in operation for 3 years, we work 100% retained with a select number of Clients. Our approach to recruitment is completely unique. Yes, our fees are higher, (on average 22%), and we own that, because we believe in the work we do and the value that we add as Consultants. Hopefully you see recruitment as a professional service and take pride in the work that you do.
When you join Spencer Lane, you’ll find out fairly quickly that we live and breath our ethics & values. Freedom and building meaningful relationships are 2 of our highest values. Our ethics are what drive our day to day operations. That means, if something doesn’t sit right with you, ie working with a client who is discriminating, then we will strongly encourage you to not work with that client. It’s simple to us. This business does not focus on the $. Ethics and values first. The $ will naturally follow.
Be honest. Be empathetic. Be transparent. Act with integrity. Even if it means we lose out on a placement. We’re playing the long game.

When you join us at Spencer Lane, you will be encouraged to give back. Fancy doing a few days of charity work? Take a day, two or three on us, and do it. Fancy organising a fundraiser for a charity close to your heart? We’ll put our full force behind it.
Over the past few years, we’ve donated over $22,000 to our charity partners. It really is important to us that we give back and positively impact the world. The highlight of our year last year, was organising a fundraiser run for our charity partner Beyond Blue. We managed to raise just over $15,000 for this incredible charity that supports mental health. A portion of our placement fee is also donated to our charity partner - Fitted For Work, a charity that supports women experiencing disadvantage to get work, keep work, and navigate their world of work.

We dont expect your first born before we promote you! But we do expect and hold every single person in the business accountable to their own targets and markers. Once these markers are hit, we can progress you through to further training & development before you take the next step in your career, ensuring you have all the tools and skills in your toolkit to take on the new role.

$75,000 + Super
1.5 x threshold with 20% over threshold billings. ie do a 70k quarter and get $7,800 in commission.

$85,000 + Super
1.2 x threshold with 20% over threshold billings. and 30% over 3 x salary billings.
ie do a 100k quarter and get $17,377 in commission.

10% commission on everything you bill. As well as quarterly profit share (based on your teams performance).

As an owner of the business, you will now drop salary to what the other owners take. You will now get access to a proportionate quarterly profit share.

We believe true flexibility isnt about whether or not you can work from home or the office, it’s about fitting your work in and around your life. We do have a lovely office in Melbourne CBD which has multiple breakout areas, phone booths and car parking, but it is up to you whether you use it.
